Biomass is using wood for heat either in log, chip or pellet form. Wood burning stoves for room heating are not covered by the RHI.
Logs are used in log gasification and are very hands on and require daily loading of a boiler.
Wood chip is semi-automated and more regular cleaning processes, ideal for big heat loads.
Wood pellets are made from purpose grown four year old trees full of sap and use no added products, with calorific values giving 4.8kW per kilo of pellet, heating your home can be u[p to 50% cheaper than fossil fuels. Pellet boilers are fully automated, smaller in size and require very little assistance and are perfect for domestic applications.
